Well I thought I would give you guys another update from the home front here and update you on the move!

The Positives
-   We have gotten moved into the new place!  Hooray!
-   I now have a house full of "new to us furniture" that was free!  Hooray!  See exhibit A below for some of our new additions.  The coffee table and cats were already ours.

-   It only got slightly dinged up on the way over!  Double Hooray!
-   I LOVE our new garage!

The Negatives
-   We found some pet mess stains that are going to have to be professionally cleaned.  Landlord is paying - but we can't get it scheduled until Thursday.  Until then we have "The Great Wall of Boxes" that is keeping our cats from "that corner" of the Dining Area.  (P.S.  The table, chairs, and large painting are another new to us freebie score!)

-   The microwave is broken - and will be replaced on Wednesday.  Until then I must cook everything on the stove.
-   The sprayer on the sink leaks and will also be replaced on Wednesday.  Until then, it has to hang into the sink!
-   I absolutely must refinish my coffee table.  What has been a minor annoyance is now a blazing "Ugh!" in the middle of my "new to me" living room.

So those are the updates from here!  Since I am still neck high in boxes I will need you guys to bear with me while I dig out and get my creative juices going again.  (I am still trying to gauge how long it will take me to pull the coffee table into the garage and go at it!  I think I am probably going to give it until this weekend - if I don't grab the sander before that!)

However since I had some fun moving drama of my own - I thought I would let you share yours!  What have you "found" upon moving into a new place?  Funny, gross, disappointing - I am ready to hear about someone else's crazy moves!

Congrats on the new place!! When I was a child and my parents bought our new house, the people that moved out left a whole garage full worth of things.. They had previously owned a fabric store. The garage contents were the leftover remnants from their store. For my brother and I the "leftbehinds" became years of treasure hunting for us!

Have fun getting settled! We bought this house around Thanksgiving last year. It had been a rental for about 15 years, so we've found all sorts of stuff in the attic space, out the the yard, etc. Things like hockey sticks, dog houses. But the weirdest was the baggie of frozen breast milk in the freezer in the garage!

On moving into our current house we found out that the previous owners where PIGS! We didn't move in for 10 weeks after seeing the house...apparently the last time the house was clean. They had long haired cats and I swear we still find cat hair on stuff. The molding in the hall had to be replaced due to the fact that the four small (under ten) boys where lucky enough to get to ride their bikes up and down the hall. We got to replace the dishwasher within 2 weeks of moving in due to the door falling off. And my favorite...the plumber made a ton of money to rescue BATMAN from the toliet just outside of the playroom in the basement....I LOVE homeownership! LOL!

I've moved many many times, but the most memorable is what I left behind!

I had moved and after 18 months went back to visit my old neighbours. The new house owner was there and said to me- oh I have something of yours I found in the top of the cupboard I will goand get it. They went over to the house and came back with my Ultrasound pictures!!

I cant beleive they kept them so long!

Gosh, it's been 7-1/2 yrs. Lemme see . . . in this house it was so much fun finding all the 'quaintness'. it's a 50 yr old farm house, owned by the 'kids' who grew up in it. Their dad built it and he has light & switches everywhere - the linen closet, the barn, even the 2 sheds out back! It was such fun discovering all the lights everywhere. I still get a kick out of it when I go into the sheds.
Glad you're moved! Now the fun part starts! Love the wall of boxes, tho . . .

You just hang in there! You'll have your home sweet home back before you know it.

Congratulations on your move. Moving is a lot of work, but it's fun getting everything put in it's place and buying a few new things along the way. Good luck in your new home.
