Well, since I got my Christmas stuff down a week ago the mantle (aka speaker shelf) has been sitting bare.  But that gave me a little time to figure out what I want to do with it.

I knew I wanted it “wintery” and to me that means some cool blues and browns!  So here we go.  This is what I came up with!

So here is what we have going on here.  On the right, I have a blue grey glass vase I got on clearance from Target it the back.  Then I have a brown metallic bowl with a couple grapevine balls to add a little texture.  In the front is part of a tea set I bought when I was over in China.  Just love the blue floral pattern on it!  I knew when I saw it in a market in Hong Kong – I had to have it!!

On the left side, I have another of the Target vases and my black lantern.  I put my little clock in the front since it is the new year and that always makes me think about “time”!   I LOVE those vases!!  They are so pretty!

So here are a few more shots!

So there you go!  I like the light blue grey touches!  Now this has me thinking I might want some new throw pillows to match!

So what do you think?  I hope you like it!  Have you updated your mantel?  If so – you should hop over to Beth’s and join her Mantel Party

Love the little pot and cup from China. I really adore blue china. Thank you for the encouragement on my blog! I am hoping to see a lot of progress this week at the house so I hope you stop back by.

Have a wonderful day!

I like your wintery mantel! I love the textures and touches of gray/blue, and of course the clock! I guess I probably need to get a move-on and packup my own Christmas decorations soon... :)

It's always tough after Christmas and before Spring, isn't it? I've tried twigs, berries, birds, you name it. But I love the blue and brown! Perfect for this time of year - cool and warm both! Just lovely!
