Merry SITSmas and a Present for You!

Merry Christmas!

I want to wish you and yours a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!  I also have a present for you ... later!

Why the Merry Greeting?  Well, today I am posting my SITSmas Card for all of my SITSas from “The Secrets in the Sauce”. If you aren’t familiar with SITS I highly encourage you to pop on over and learn about it. It is community of women bloggers who support each other and participate in spreading comment luv!

2009 has been a tough year for us here in the F w/a F household. For the full version of the story, you can read about it here but let me give you the cliff notes version. We’ve both been laid off, had to find new jobs, move states away, and are still struggling with trying to get our home sold. Currently, we are shacking up here in TN in a one bedroom apartment that we have been stuck in since March.

At this point, it feels like our lives have been on pause for months while we wait for our home to sell. We can’t get a new home, we have had to put our plans to start a family on hold, and the fact that I am in full on nesting mode is really not conducive to apartment living.

This is part of the reason why I started this blog and it has been a great way for me to funnel my creative juices into something else besides obsessing over HGTV’s Rate my Space. I can’t believe how much I enjoy doing this. Which is why I want to tell you all how thankful I am for all of my readers, you guys are the best!

So to all of you and your families, may your season be merry and bright! I hope you get to indulge in sweet memories with your loved ones. And most importantly, that you can take the stress of this year and rest in the peace that comes with knowing the reason for the season. No matter where you are or what you are going through there is a plan for each of us.

As my present to all of you (its ok, you didn’t need to get me anything), I would like to share the end of one of my favorite Disney cartoons. I highly encourage you to take the 5 minutes it takes to watch this short clip. The name of this cartoon is Small One. If you don’t know this one … a little boy whose family are carpenters has several donkeys that they use to gather wood. The oldest of these donkeys is called Small One and he and the little boy have a very special bond. Unfortunately, Small One can not carry the burdens that are expected of him and the boy’s father tells the boy that he must take Small One to town to sell him as they cannot afford to keep him. They go to town the next day. The first shop they go to is a tanner’s shop, but the boy won’t sell him to be killed. They find some merchants who direct them to the auction house, where they are both made fun of and abused by the auctioneer. At the start of this clip, they have run away and there is very little time left for the boy to find someone kind to buy Small One.

Enjoy! (Oh and potentially grab some tissues!) There’s a place for each Small One ….
