March Review and Favorite Posts

Yeah – I am a little behind getting my March Review done.  Sometimes time just marches on as much as I would like to be able to push pause on a day!  So much to do and so little time!  But I wanted to take you through some of what was best this month on the blog and some of my favorite posts from around the web!

DIY and Crafty Goodness

I started off the month by making this jute wrapped vase where I was trying to knock off Ballard’s jute wrapped demijohns.  Based on your feedback I did pretty good!  Hop over checkout the full tutorial.

I also added some touches of Easter to the Front Door with my Easter Egg Hunt Wreath!  I loved how the little eggs peeking out made me feel like going on an Easter Egg Hunt!

Around the House

I finally found a new lamp for our Master Bedroom!  This little beauty was half priced at the Goodwill and didn’t even need a coat of spray paint!  I love it when things fall together like that!

Oh and I continued to make progress on the living room with some baskets that were perfect for my coffee table – $7 a piece and at Kroger of all places!  Sometimes those are the little things that make you happy!

Inspirational Ideas

I shared with you guys some great Windsor Chairs at the beginning of the month and how they didn’t have to always make a space feel country.  I think the universal favorite picture was this one below!

I also shared with you some great green rooms in honor of St. Patrick’s Day!  I just love the color in this one.

Tips and Tricks

I shared some great typography or word art projects with you guys earlier in the month.  My favorite in the bunch is this Scrabble Letter Wall Art by Carrie @ Seeker of Happiness!  Just love it!  Make sure you check out the whole post for some other great ideas!

I also came up with an awesome round up of some great ideas on how to use galvanized metal.   While this faux mirror was my personal favorite – there are great ideas on how to make centerpieces, tables, countertops – even shower surrounds!  One to check out for sure!

Other Posts and Ideas from Around the Web

If you don’t follow me on Facebook – then you are missing out on seeing some of the great things I find as I am browsing and checking out all of your great blogs!  There have been a ton of great projects that I shared this month – but these are my four favorite ideas.

First – I am digging this clock that Kendra @ Creative Ambitions made!  Take a good look at it.  That is an old spare drawer that she got at the Restore!  How amazing is that!!

I am totally into square wreaths – but this one that Suesan @ Frou-FruGal made is phenomenal.  Check it out – now would you believe she made the wreath form out of Great Stuff???  You know – that expandable foam in a can?  Yep – she made a wreath out of that.  Amazing!

Jen @ Scissors & Spatulas made these adorable Martha inspired herb pots!!  Love the chalkboard look don’t you!

Finally – Michele @ The Scrap Shoppe made this fantastic sign using a vinyl monogram and some old scrap wood!

Great stuff huh!  I love it!!  I am looking forward to seeing what you guys come up with in April too!  For me…. well I have a ton of projects that I am looking to get finished up.  Including some window treatment projects that have been sitting around for awhile.  And we are going to get started on the nursery this month too – so stay posted for some new details there.

What about you?  Have any fun ideas for this month?  Have a favorite post from last month you want to share?  I wanna know!

  2. I've had a pretty lousy March (ill) so I'm happy to see your round-up and catch up on everything I missed! :) My only crafty success for the month was a couple of cards for mothers' day (today, in the UK).
