My Valentine’s Day wreath was still up this weekend – which is a little sad since we are a couple weeks past that now!  So I decided to do something up for St. Patrick’s Day.

Now I feel like I have done wreaths over and over and over since fall – so I wanted to change it up a little and come up with something a little different.

Here is what I came up with – a St. Patrick’s Day welcome basket!

DSC07672

Isn’t it cute?  I love it!  All of this is from the Dollar Store!  I grabbed three stems of some glitter covered florals – some are three leaf clovers and some are carnation-looking flowers.

Then I added some larger shamrocks!  I got a twelve pack of these and took these six and glued them onto straws.  I painted the straws brown with a little craft paint.  And because they were bendy straws – I was able to lean and bend each little shamrock pick one way or another.

DSC07661

I put it all in an adorable little green basket and then topped it off with a cute little felt sign!  Ack!  I just love it!

DSC07666

I think it feels so festive!!  Normally I don’t do any St. Patrick’s Day decor but this was just too cute to pass up!  So what about you?  Are you decorating for St. Patty’s Day this year?  I wanna know!

That looks great. I don't normally decorate for St Patrick's Day, but might this year since I've been seeing some cute things.

Ohhhh, love it! Hubby isn't big into wreaths, but I might be able to talk him into this one!

Is this the dollar store basket? it looks great! i'm going to be a loser and do absolutely no st. patricks day decorations. i just can't get into that holiday. i love your decorations though. very much :o) i hope dollar tree hasn't discontinued the wreath forms. That'd be terrible! i priced them at michael's and they're like 5 bucks for the same thing. rip off....

Adorable. I love the little Luck of the Irish sign paired up with everything else you highlighted. I like even more that it all came from the dollar store!

Love it! I honestly planned to decorate for St Patty's this year but have not gotten around to it yet. There's still time so I might. Thanks for sharing! Chris

Oh, now isn't this just adorable! Just too cute!

Ingenious! It looks so sweet. I hadn't planned to do a St. Pat door decor but now I'm tempted. I loved that you've created a festive look without a lot of colors. There's a lesson right there. Classy.

I love it! St. Patrick's Day is one of my favorites. I love green, Irish music, and soda bread. What more could you need in a holiday?

I think I'm actually one of the few members of the Irish Arts Center here in New York who has absolutely no Irish ancestry...

Seriously - bendy straws as a decorating tip!
You rock!

I'm gonna toss some green Andies candies in both side of a vintage brass set of scales I have.

(The candy is being re-used from Christmas. "Shh, don't tell!")

And, I'll likely put out some of the things from our shop: candle holders wrapped in forest green twine, rustic decor balls, you know stuff like that. (I wouldn't sell it if I didn't love it - so, naturally I decorate with it.)

I've been baking a lot of Guinness Bread recently. Hubby loves Guinness. I'll probably feature a recipe at some point - but no need to wait. You can Google it. (Tip: Find a "quick break" with baking powder and baking soda and you won't have to worry about waiting for yeast to rise.)

Um Jess, my Christmas wreath is still hanging on my door. I just noticed it the other day and thought to myself, "I ought to take that down." Maybe this would make a nice replacement. :)

Um Jess, the thing I love about your blog is that you SHARE! I went to Dollar Tree yesterday and bought EXACTLY what you bought. No variations needed! Love it! Haven't put it together yet though. I'm sure I'll do that on...oh say March 16th! Haha! Love it!

Funny...I bought those exact shamrocks at the dollar store. However, I just stuck them on my window. LOL! I haven't put anything on the outside of our door because its been so windy lately.
