Did you guys have a great holiday weekend?  Ours was fantastic!  We went home and I got to spend some quality cuddling time with my one week old nephew.  I love how snuggly lil babies are!  Anyways - when we drove home the hubby was driving.  And when he drives up to our house, he always drives around the "other" way to our house.  I just drive up to the side where the garage door is, he comes around the other way.  So as we drove up, I got a much better view of the front door.  And whoopsy - my spring sign was still up.

Well, this presented an excellent opportunity to come up with a new summer wreath.  I was flipping around online last night and found these cute napkin rings on MarthaStewart.com.  I loved the idea of the little flowers made out of ribbon - so I decided to use this idea to make some flowers for my wreath.

So to start you need some ribbon.

Fold it up accordion style and then run a needle with some thread through the short end (aka - where I am holding it pinched).

Knot the thread and then fan out the pleats.  Put a little fabric glue between your two ends and voila - an adorable flower!

Next to attach the flower to my grapevine wreath - I ran a bobby pin through the flower.

Then you just find a nice lil vine and slide it on there.

I grouped them in threes.  Ta-da!  Finished wreath - I think it is sooo adorable!  I especially love my bandana print ribbon I found!

So what about you?  Got anything fun and summery on your door?

Ever since I worked on my black and white shelf this weekend, I have had black and white on the brain... enjoy what I have found!

Love the built-ins, art, and the fabric prints in this room.  And is it just me or are the built-ins painted in a gradient.

Love the stripes!  And aren't the shades on those lamps adorable.  Hmmm, a little trim and some stichwitchery and those could be easy DIY projects!

I am currently in the midst of a lighting crisis - I either need new lamps or new shades. I got a new lamp free when we moved into the new place which has a neat wrought iron base - but I hated the giant shade on it! I had to remove it and send it off to Goodwill - but I haven't found anything else I like... sigh. So I started looking at lamps and lighting online - and I believe I am obsessed drum shades! I thought I would share some of the beauties I found with you! (No sponsorship here - just me finding lamps I love!)

This lamp just screams Candace Olson to me - don't you think?
Crystal Ball Table Lamp from JCPenney for $59.99

Love this cut out drum chandi - it is modern and rustic all at the same time.
Metal Web Chandelier from Overstock.com for $83.99

How cute is this little table lamp?  I adore the damask shade!

Stick Lamp with Damask Shade from Target for $16.99

This pleated pendant is so fantastic and is on clearance!

Pleated Pendant Lamp from West Elm for $89.99

Need a floor lamp?  I think the Moroccan print on the inside of the shade makes this a unique and slightly exotic option over your standard shade.  Best news - it is also on clearance!
Artesia Taper Floor Lamp from JCPenney for $64.00

Hmm - this chandi is also a little Candace-esque with that crystal finale.  Classic and refined with just a touch of bling!
Fabric 3-light Chrome Chandi from Overstock.com for $87.99

This little desk lamp is super cute.  Love the modern shade!  Bonus - it is polycarbonite not glass so it would be safe to have in an area with tikes that might pull on cords!  Or boys that throw things!
Chrome Trumpet Table Lamp from Walmart for $24.24

Finally - if you already have a lamp you love - this shade is so beautiful.  I think this might be where I am ultimately heading since I can't stop but pick it up and look at it when I am in Target!
Barrel Lamp Shade from Target for $24.99

So there you go!  What is your favorite source for lamps?  I know I have found some great ones at Goodwill before that just need a little TLC and spray paint.  Where else do you shop for affordable lamps and shades?
