I don’t know about you guys – but I LOVE vintage prints. I have a ton of them saved and waiting for the perfect project. But sometimes I feel like the only idea I can come up with is to frame them like I did my vintage botanicals. Well that got me feeling like I should hunt for some new ideas!
So with out further ado – here are 10 great ways to use vintage prints.
1. Make a Wall Art Installation
I love this wall art using vintage labels that Lisa @ Serendipity Chic Design made. She used an old window and wooden panels to create this stunning piece.
2. Sew up some Pillows
There are tons of ideas out there for using vintage prints on pillows! Anyone else see Pottery Barn’s latest catalog? But I really love these personalized pillows that Cortney @ Faith. Home. Love. made as Christmas presents! Man – I wish I had been on her gift list!
3. Create a Calendar
Something about the New Year programs us to get a new calendar. I would much rather make one that is as beautiful as this one from {Northern Cottage}. I know I shared this yesterday on my Facebook page but I kept thinking about it today!
I love these coasters that the Graphics Fairy made!! Her site, by the way, is the go to stop for all your vintage picture needs – I have gotten so many from her!
5. Cover a Frame
I love this vintage postcard covered frame that Lynda @ Something Created Everyday made. How beautiful is this! A lil Mod Podge and a Goodwill frame and you can have the same thing!
6. Make some moveable Word Art
Vintage prints aren’t always pictures – some times printed typography can be made into beautiful pieces. Case in point – these rotating word art “houses” from Tea Potty Time. They rotate to say things like Home and Love. Adorable!
7. Wrap a Candle
There are tons of projects like this one out there but I love the simple sheet music overlaid with vintage images of crowns. How cute are these candles from Amanda @ Reloved Rubbish? Love em!
8. Personalize a Jewelry Box
Love this idea! Lindy @ Cottage Hill redid an jewelry box by painting it light blue, hand painting the branch and then Mod Podging the lil bird onto the branch!
9. Revamp and Old Tray
Never again will I pass up a tray at a yard sale or Goodwill. Not when I know I could make something this beautiful like Kim @ Cheap Chic Home did.
10. Make some Ornaments
I know we are just past Christmas – but this is the time to make your notes for things you want to do next year. Case in point – how about make some beautiful ornaments using some vintage graphics like these that Heather @ Straight Stitches made! Too cute!
So there you go! Ten great ideas! Did you find one you love? Lemme know! And if you have a vintage project you did that you would love to share with us – pop over to my Facebook page and post it there for us all to see!
