The ceiling is such an forgotten space in a room. But giving it a little love can really transform your space. Here are some ideas to get you going!
Think about starting off with just adding a simple coat of paint in a beautiful color. I love this blue!
Using a tin ceiling panel is a great way to add some visual interest.
How about using molding to create a pattern on the ceiling? You could go complex ...
Or a little more simple!
Use wallpaper to create a little texture and pattern! This works well especially in small spaces.
Painting stripes on the the ceiling is another great way to draw the eye up and perhaps add a splash of color!
And if you want something really different - how about doing a wood finish? I swear this looks like wood flooring doesn't it!
Or you can take several of the above and come up with a unique combo! Love this!
So there you go! What about you? Are your ceilings basic or do you have some pizazz? See any ideas that have inspired you? I wanna know!

Fun post! The most exciting thing I've done is a colored ceiling (turquoise once and apple green once) in neutral rooms. I would like to do a painted lattice ceiling but can't get the husband on board!
Even painting the ceiling in a colour that is not white can add some magic! Wonderful photos! Best regards from Barcelona,
Marta
Oh goodness, such options! I really like the blue color in the first photo and also the molding on the ceilings!
Love those ceilings Jess, the first one is calling my name!
I love all of these ideas! Thanks for finding the pics. We were joking this weekend, because for about the 4th time (ugh!!) our tub drain leaked, and ruined the ceiling below. So, while I trust that it is REALLY fixed this time... I am tired of repairing the ceiling. My solution? An approximate 12x14 frame on which to rest a piece of sheet rock. Just like access to the attic, but a lot smaller. Our joke? Well because a flat wood/mitered corners frame holds the access "door" we joked about adding a picture. :) It will actually blend in well, painting it the same colors and all. Made me think about adding pics to the ceiling if you run out of wall space. Would never do it of course, but it is a silly idea. :)
Any brillian ideas to 'dress' disguise or make two stairs into our bedroom ceiling (in order to get into the attic) look good and not spoil the room...from the UK. Really disappointed at the moment that the ceiling might be spoilt...Claudette
