Ah, I love Wisteria. They have the most beautiful furniture. Unfortunately, it is at prices that I can only sigh at longingly and then dream of winning the lottery. So when Sarah at Pewter and Sage picked out two beautiful chests from Wisteria for Mood Board Monday, I was too excited.
We had our choice to work with either this beautifully detailed Moorish Chest
Or this German Silver Bow Front Chest
Well I don’t know about you, but as soon as I saw the Silver Chest, I could see Candace Olson using it in some super fancy bedroom makeover. I love Candace, although most of the time I would feel like I would break stuff in one of her rooms if left alone for more than 5 minutes. However, I did feel like this Dresser would give me a chance to create a Candace inspired bedroom. Now normally you know I like to take the item I am given and create a budget friendly set up around it. I am afraid this chest demands more than that, so I am pretending there is all the $$ in the world and going to town! (Hey – I am sticking to my diet and cleaning resolutions, let a girl have something to indulge in for January!)
Here is what I came up with.
I decided I wanted to do a Bedroom around this beautiful chest. First, I want it to pop in the room, so I decided on this deep purpley-grey blue paint shade.
I would want to pair this with light honey oak floors like the ones in the picture and a lot of creamy white molding all over the room.
I wanted to make all the other furniture pop against this paint color too, so I went for lighter colors. The bed for this set had to be upholstered and I picked out the gorgeous Collette bed from Crate and Barrel in covered in this great grey linen fabric. The bed is also accented with nailhead trim and has a matching bench. Ah!
Pairing it up with these classic Vendome II nightstands with sliver knobs and topping those off with a pair of silver Hailey lamps will help carry the silver accent and the same leg shape from the bed to the nightstand. Finally, I would have to get a couple of these Dubious Mirrors to go over top of the chest. And that would just about wrap up my Crate and Barrel shopping spree!
Now, to give it just a touch of budget (cause it wouldn’t be me without that) I would put this pretty blue, green, grey, taupe rug from Home Decorators Outlet with a leaf motif underneath. I would top the bed off with some taupe-grey monochromatic bedding, from JCPenny’s. And of course, it wouldn’t be a Candace inspired design if there wasn’t a little crystal in the light fixture, so I found this pretty fixture at Overstock.com with a crystal finial on the bottom. A couple fantastic candlesticks from Zgallerie.com and the room is set!
So whadda think? I think it is glamorous and calm all at one. I would feel like such a diva in this room, wouldn’t you?

Hi, Jess!! Woohoo, I was so excited to just log back on to the blog and see that we had more participants! Yay!!! Thanks so much for taking the time to join the party. And with a Candace inspired bedroom no doubt? You had me at Candace...I love her style! and I love gray, so this room is right up my alley. Way to go with a dark wall color. That gorgeous C&B bed that I have loved forever will look amazing up agains that paint. I scored some Dubois knock-off mirrors at Michaels one day, so those are just my thing too. I'm laughing hysterically that you bargain shopped for the rug and linens...that is awesome!!! Thanks so much again for hanging out:)
That room would look beautiful. It all fits together so perfectly and i love the colors. great job. Love it.
Such a beautiful and relaxing room. Sleep wouldn't be hard to come by in that bedroom! Love all the elements you chose to complement the silver chest.
I love the design. Feels so relaxing. And, I am with you of loving all things Candace!
I'm a big Candace fan too so your Candace-inspired bedroom is stunning. I love your design. Great job!

I definitely see the Candice inspiration - you're just missing glass tile somewhere :) Soothing and monochromatic til you get to that saucy rug....just enough color and pattern to keep it from being boring. It's elegant and classic with just enough bling to keep a girl happy.
I missed this month's party so am looking forward to playing next time.
