I stumbled upon these frames a couple of weeks ago at two different places. First, I got four of them at a yard sale for $2.
Then when I was at Goodwill - I saw another two! And it was on the 50% off day! Crazy - I know - but I was super excited to get full set of six.
I have been thinking for awhile that I wanted to do a set of vintage botanical prints. So to start, I spray painted the gold frames with a little ORB spray paint.
Next, I spent some time pursing The Graphics Fairy and Vintage Printables for some different ideas. Ok - really I spent way too much time looking at both these sites! There are just too many gorgeous prints on both of them. I loved this one of a coffee plant from The Graphics Fairy.
So once I finally picked out six prints, I had to figure out how to print them out to fit into the oval frames. I ended up printing them as 8x10's but inserted a border into Picasa and scaling the image to fit within that border. After a little trial and error, I finally figured out the right combo and printed them all out onto white cardstock. All I had to do then was put them in the frame and hang em on the wall! So here is the finished project.
I just love it! This was just the perfect size collection to go on this wall in our living room between the entertainment center and the front door.
I really like the way this little project turned out! It is just the perfect thing for that wall space as I didn't want anything too big or distracting. And it only cost me $6 for the whole project! Love it!
Do you have any botanical prints in your house? After all the beautiful clip art I have looked at today - I think I might have a few more projects in the works too!

What a great deal on those frames...can't believe you found 6 of them! They look lovely on your wall!

You really came up with a good idea for these! They look great! And of course, a great price. :)
They really look beautiful! I'm about to do a collage of frames in my dining room, so I have quite a few frames to spray paint! Hopefully this is just the motivation I need :)
Looks fab!
I don't have any botanicals, but you have inspired me to look out for some...yours came out great (and hung so perfectly, too!!)
I'd never heard of the Graphics Fairy, hoorah, another source for free art!
What luck to have found six frames in such a short period of time.
Great job Jess! I love botanical prints and the colors in these look fabulous! Hope you had a great time in Nashville!
I have these same pics on my living room wall. I just bought 2 more at a garage sale and plan to use all of them for a wall display whenever we build a new home. This is another idea for me to add to my collection. Thanks for the inspiration.
I LOVE botanical prints and you've inspired me to think outside the box and go hunting for some frames at GW and other thrift stores! The colors and prints you chose are wonderful and I hope mine turn out as beautifully as yours!

Botanical prints are so pretty. I need to find some frames and follow your lead--love it!
Love them! I'm on my way to the G-Dub to look for some oval frames to get started! I'm thinking pines for a Colorado Fall look! Thanks for the inspiration.
They really look great Jess. I just love botanicals and great deals.

Those are amazing! You have a knack for seeing the promise in things. If I'd seen those gold frames with Thomas Kincaidian prints in them I would have passed on them immediately thinking they weren't my style, without even considering the possibilities!
What a gorgeous use of these frames, Jess. Using the botanicals was a great idea.
I love what you did with these! They look so darling!
