I like a little bling in my life. Sometimes a little shimmer can add that certain something that a project is missing. So when I was working on my fall wreath - that is the direction I decided to take.
I started with these bunches of fall florals that I bought in 2008. No cost there. And they were beautiful - but I wanted to take it to another level.
I started with these bunches of fall florals that I bought in 2008. No cost there. And they were beautiful - but I wanted to take it to another level.
So I invited a couple of friends out to help. Psst - don't tell the others but Sparkling Canyon is my favorite.
So I gave the leaves and berries a couple light passes. Just enough to give some shimmer without taking out too much of the color.
Added those to the grapevine wreath I already had and voila - we have wreath! Wanna see the final result??? Here it is!
Squeel!!! I LOVE it. LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!
Oh - I also took a white chipboard S (that I got at Michael's years ago) and spray painted it ORB. Then tied it on with a little red ribbon (leftover from our wedding).
So if you are keeping track that is a total cost of zero. Nada, nothing, zip!

Everything it took to make this wreath I already owned! I don't know if I have ever loved a free creation more! Looks great with our brick too I think! Now I just need to get some great mums and pansies to brighten up the bottom of our porch.(UPDATE: If you love this wreath - you have to see what I made for the bottom of the porch! Hop over and check out my shimmery pumpkin topiary!)
But the top, well that is covered! Here is one last close up to you before we go! Sigh! Did I mention that I LOVE it!
So what do you think? Is a little bling a good thing? :) I sure think so!

Very pretty!
I think you did a fantastic job! I love the colors in it.
So pretty. I really like the bling :)
I can see why you love it, it's gorgeous!!! I never would have thought about the metallic paint on the silk leaves!!! Great post!!!
You did a fantastic job of making it your own and it's really beautiful.
So pretty! Great job (as always). I am so ready for fall here in NC, but with it still in the low 90's during the day makes it really hard to be motivated. I guess I could be if I had a pretty wreath to work with... :)
Oh my goodness! I wouldn't never thought to spray paint the leaves. I love it! Perfect for fall.
Great job and the cost is great to, (free is always good)! I never thought of spraying my silk plants, or that they would even look that beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
Sandy
How clever! It looks wonderful.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
So cute! I definitely like the bling :)
That is gorgeous!!! I am going to feature it on my TT&J FB page and link over to you. WOW!

Love it! This would be a great way to take cheaper looking leaves and spruce them up! Pretty!!
I love it too Jess! Great job, and I will have to find that spray paint:)
I love it and I love that it didn't cost anything. I don't think one can have too much bling! I am going to get our initial for the center of the wreath I made. What a great idea! Thank you for sharing with us.
Just Gorgeous!!! I love spray paint!!
And I'm a sucker for a monogramm ...escpecially an "S" (I'm an "S" too)!
That's so pretty Jess. I could see a wreath like this at the center of a Thanksgiving table with candles in the center.
Well you did a great job, and the price sure was right. I've been looking for a new color to paint a tin bucket for my front, I think you just gave me the perfect answer AND I love the letter hanging in the middle of the wreath. I've got to tuck that one away in my memory too. Thanks for some great Monday ideas.
Love the fact that you spray painted the 'leafs'. Gives it that extra pop of character... and of course love the monogram! :)
I love this idea of spray painting the leaves. Of course, I am always up for a little (or a lot of) bling! ;)
Beautiful! It feels Martha inspired with the shimmer. I really like the color combination. Gorgeous for fall. Great way of reusing what you have.
oh my goodness, that's fantastic jess! never would have thought to do that, but i love it! love it!
as far as the candles, i can't vouch for almond cookie yet, but autumn wreath...i just wanted to eat it.
Hi- I'm a new visitor from Met Monday. I love your wreath! Everything is better with a little galmour and bling : )
oh. oh. i 'm so doing this this weekend! i've been grumping about how little sparkle our house has, and this is PERFECT! it can hang from an S hook through one of the holes in our metal screen/safety door!
Love it ...looks so awesome with the metallics...
Thanks for finding my blog and leaving me the sweet comment on my window box! That was a fun project. Your fall wreath is elegant, and very lovely, great job!
Hope you have a wonderful week, my BFF lives in Franklin and she says it is still really hot there, hopefully fall weather is on its way soon!
I love it! What a wonderful idea to spray paint the leaves!
Blessings,
Sandra
Great idea! I could also see it with some chocolate and white ribbon...or some leopard ribbon. You did a wonderful job on your wreath, and I reall do like the bling. Thank you for sharing your charming design. Cherry Kay

Oohh that would look so nice on my front door! Great job!
I love this wreath. I'd be so proud too if I were you. :)

How fun!!
Thanks for linking up to my party, Jess. :)
I love the "S" in the middle...super cute!! (Just checking out Traci's party (beneath my heart))
Oh my goodness, this is just stunning! One of the prettiest fall wreaths I've seen. Love it, and I've stumbled it for you. :)
You know, I just took out my Fall garland and was thinking I would like a little more neutral look...this is a perfect idea. I even have the paint from another project. Thanks for sharing!
Sarah
I used your color scheme idea. I bought a fall wreath, took it apart and painted it with the same color spray paints that you used and it turned out fabulous!!! I also did a three tiered pumpkin topiary and painted them in the matching colors! Looks so sophisticated! L-O-V-E it! Keep the great ideas coming!
This is super-cool. I've been on the hunt for funky, non-cheezy fall decor, and I think I've found inspiration!
Where did you get the spray paint?
Absolutely stunning! I took down all my Halloween stuff today and my house is so bare! My front door definitely needs a wreath like that...off I go shopping tomorrow. Thanks for the tut and inspiration:)
love the `de'core around door...it would pop even more if u painted door and trim,,,,
Beautiful wreath! Love the colors and the "S", I may have to try this!
Did you glue the leaves on? I haven't made one before and love this version!
