Can I be honest with you guys? I have done a fall wreath before, but I have never done any "interior fall decorating". But I did decide to do some this year. Why? Because I have always wanted to but never thought I had the time or stuff to be able to do it like I see it in magazines.
But here is the thing, I think we often think that most of what we see and love and admire is unobtainable. Either because we don't have the time or the money. I know I did.
So I am here today to show you how I did a little fall decorating with a little cash and still made the touches around the house that aren't over the top but still made that fall impact in my home!
For starters - I am over my vignette-phobia! Check it out! I started unpacking all my dining room stuff and realized that it shouldn't be segregated to the dining room. The candle holder is one that has sat on the center of our dining room table for a couple of years. I just stuck a couple silk leaves in with some corks and I think it gives it a fall touch! I also think it looks great next to my ORB Lamp! Then I have this beautiful Arthur Court silver grapevine tray that I got for Christmas a couple of years ago. Just added a couple of votives and put it on top of my "Savoring Tuscany" book!

Next up, we have had the large woven balls sitting in the white bowl on the coffee table. To "fall it up" I added some leaves from the dollar store into the bottom and threw in a couple of the extra berries that were left over from my fall wreath. I love the way it looks!
I also threw in a few touches around the TV - here is a full shot.
I also threw in a few touches around the TV - here is a full shot.
I started with putting a couple leaves and the rest of the leftover berries in my little wire basket. A great pop of color with all my other white accents.
I also spray painted my floor vase with Heirloom White and put some colorful grasses in from the Dollar Store. I think it added a great pop of color in that corner!
I also added some more touches to our dining area. In addition to my fall florals in the pitcher, I also took some of the dollar store leaves I had made a little display under my leaf plates.
My little "leaf" displays were made by weaving the stems together like so. Just twist the wire stems together ...
And then sit the plate in the center and voila - beautiful display! And I just have to untwist the leaves to use them again next year! (Always think ahead!)
Finally, I grabbed a couple gourds and set them in my basket on the hutch. I also have a basket of leaves and dried flowers in a basket on the side!
So there you go - those are my fall touches. I think I may have spent $5 total on all these little touches. I used a lot of things I already had and added some other items that just fit just right. I am so happy with it - one that I took the time and two that I didn't take a lot of cash to do it!
So what about you? Do you decorate for fall or is that something you normally just admire in magazines or catalogs? I hope I shared some ideas today on how you can make some quick changes without taking a lot of money to do it!

That's really nice! Nice, simple touches!
you're like a vignette pro now! looks good! love the corks in with the candle.
Looks great! I'm not really a seasonal decorator, either, but I do put out a few things for fall, and I do go all out for Christmas.
I had skipped fall (except my wreath) because I am saving money for new Christmas decor, but you reminded me how easy (and cheap!) it can be to add some fall touches!
My favorite part of fall decor, though?? The yummy cinnamon-y candles, of course!
Okay, so I am practical to a major degree, meaning not spending money on something that will be in storage the majority of the year. But your post confirms to me, that yes Erin, you can decorate and not a)break the bank b)with little touches, it really makes a difference. So thank you Jess for opening my eyes and living up to your title, Frugal with a Flourish!
What you have done is amazing! I love all of the small touches you have added around your home. I am just sticking to outdoor decorations this year.
You make it look so easy! I'm not sure I have anything cute in my apartment that I could add leaves to for fall. I'm certainly going to try now though!
your home is absolutely perfect! Great job!!
I do mainly Halloween -- a lot and then do some fall stuff in November. Somehow September just zooms by. Fun fall nesting you have done. Joni
Very pretty simple fall touches. Thanks for sharing.
You're obviously a lady who once she puts her mind to something...does it quite well, thank you! You have a good eye for design. I'm particularly fond of the woven balls accented with the leaves. You've achieved a sophisticated look without going over the top into 'craft and trash.' Thank you for sharing your charming design. Cherry Kay
Wonderful vignettes! I especially love the first one with the Tuscany/grape theme, but they are all great examples of adding just a bit of fall to our existing decor to make a big difference!
I like how you put just little fall touches among what already have. The simplicity is lovely.
Thank you for visiting my blog and the kind remarks. Congratulations on the upcoming one year anniversary!
Don't you just love Dollar Tree. I was there today. I was talking to the manager. He told me that their business has doubled since the recession. I told him that they were all over blogville. Your decorations look great. I do decorate for fall. I like it because you can decorate in Sept and it is good until after Thanksgiving. Hopefully I can get something posted soon. See you soon, Ginger
Looks awesome, just found your blog from another ;) Where did u find the balls in the bowl? Very cute and love the fall leave touches.
The balls in the bowl are really, really cool!
All your extra fall touches make everything look great! Good job!
The white vase, etc., is too stark for the fall season.
